ICBM Computer Science Intern

The ICBMSystems Directorate team owns and maintains a predictive modelling tooldesigned to meet the ICBM reposture requirements. The model helps todetermine what is necessary to maintain ICBM assets in “A” condition, or acondition that can be upgraded to “A” condition for possible reconstitutionwithin defined timelines. This will require updating the model withreal-time numbers provided by a number of customers for specific assetavailability. Customers include the 414 SCMS, 635 SCOW, 581 MMXS,AFNWC/NI, AFGSC/A4, AFMC AFLCMC, HAF/A10, Department of the Navy and others.The contractor will maintain all iterations of the model and their subsectionsincluding process alterations and process logic. They will also maintainall Operation System updates relative to the model. A copy of the currentmodel shall always be present on the classified government computers being usedby government personnel. This model and its subsections must offerscenario coverage for ground components as well as flight componentsspecifically including re-entry systems being used by the weapon system.

The ICBM SystemsDirectorate team requires model maintenance to include interface compatibility, troubleshooting and updates as necessary to the modelling software. This successful candidate will provide all model updates and will utilize themodel as directed by the government customer. They will also providetraining and tutorials for the Hedge Team as needed to maintain theirproficiency in using, and explaining the model to a larger audience. Theywill also assist as required in an engineering analysis of portions of thestructures to help define restoration requirements.

Thesuccessful candidate shall possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Required Skills and Education Required education: High School/GED

  • Must be an active student in an ABET accredited engineering program, scientific, mathematics, or other technical or scientific based degree. Must be in at least Junior Year of appropriate degree program.
  • Programming background in at least one language
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Able to work Microsoft Office Suite and some technical writing skills.

Preferred Skills and Education Strong or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studios

Programming in C++, C Sharp, and Zamel

Knowledge of mechanical systems

Strong analytical skills
