IC Layout Designer

Job Description
BAE Systems Survivability, Targeting & Sensing Solutions (STS) in Lexington MA is looking for a Mixed Signal IC Layout Designer with emphasis on Readout integrated circuits (ROICs). We are seeking an individual experienced in analog and Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit (IC) layout and Digital VLSI and EO/IR experience is a strong plus. Candidate should have a good intuitive understanding of transistor-level circuit layout, and should understand layout issues that drive performance. The designer is expected to work closely with ROIC design engineers for to develop and optimize designs.

Primary responsibilities include implementation of EO/IR ROIC layouts using CADENCE layout tools. Working with ROIC Design engineers to update and/or establish design rules and implement design rule checking, as well as contributing to the creation of Process Design Kit (PDK) and design rule manuals. This includes writing necessary scripts within the layout tools and support to mask procurement activities.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • U.S. citizen with ability to get a Secret clearance
  • 3-5 years' experience with CADENCE advanced design tool and Calibre verification tool suites
  • Good understanding of analog circuits layouts
  • Familiarity with EDA tools for analog design, especially ways to script and automate tasks
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal layout techniques
  • Good scripting skills with some experience in Python, Skill, csh/sh/bash or related
Preferred Skills and Education
Experience with Commercial and US Department of Defense product development.
Experience with layout design of EO/IR sensors
