Gov Property Mgt Spec I

This position is responsible for all applicable number of Contractor Outcomes of the Government/Customer Property Control System, including the maintenance of records and issuance of required reports concerning government/customer-owned property from its receipt at the company to its final disposition after contract completion or termination. Position includes self-audit and support of the Government's tri-annual audit of the Government Property Control System in addition to Customer audits. Acts as a liaison with internal and external customers to resolve government/customer property issues.

Maintain auditable records of government/ customer-owned property located at the facility and associated vendor/subcontractor facilities. Ensure that the records include authority to have the property and an audit trail of receipt, inspection, cost, classification, periodic inventory, maintenance, and final disposition.Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to customer and government property. Maintain auditable backup data and files for: Loss, damage or destruction of property (LTDD); Report applicable property in the Item Unique Identification (IUID) Registry; ; Annual report of property for tax purposes; and Reports of inventory and excess property schedules for property no longer required.Written and verbal correspondence to internal and external customers, vendors, and DCMA personnel. Prepare draft procedure changes to implement FAR/DFARS requirements or locally directed management changes. Originate and process documentation required for all transactions.Reviews vendor/subcontractor's control of government property in coordination with the Purchasing and Subcontracts Departments. This may be accomplished through site visits.Performs self-assessment audits of compliance to published procedures and FAR/DFARS requirements. Coordinates all aspects of the analysis by interfacing with appropriate department personnel and the DCMA's Property Administrator, if necessary, secure any corrective actions necessary.Assist in all phases of the Government's survey of an LOB site's Government Property Control System. Assures that deficiencies noted during the survey are immediately addressed by informing the responsible supervisors of the problem, recommending solutions and assisting in the correction of the deficiencies.Work with Contract Administrators and Program Managers to ensure that excess government/customer property is identified as quickly as possible after contract completion. Responsible for resolving systems problems. Analyze current practices for deficiencies and determines potential corrective action. Develop strategies, testing and analysis methods for more complex problems with guidance from management.
