Geospatial Analyst

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Geospatial Analyst candidate.

As a Geospatial Analyst, you will apply expert knowledge of ArcGIS while performing a wide-range of geospatial analysis for the Intelligence Community. The analyst will utilize an understanding of geography, remote sensing, spatial analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and geospatial production techniques to create information, characterize events, and discover relationships and trends. The selected analyst will work as a member of a government-contractor team providing geospatial analysis, research and reach-back support for deployed Intelligence Officers to satisfy Key Intelligence Questions (KIQs) in support of counterterrorism mission requirements.

The successful candidate will be able to read and understand intelligence issues, military affairs and use GIS to answer KIQs. The analyst will extract and/or acquire geospatial information, derivative information and multi-INT data for analysis, visualization and modeling to enhance the knowledge of the area of operation. This also includes extracting specific mission-related feature data in accordance with customer data and product specifications and with respect to non-standard product requirements. In this position, the analyst will also support the development and implementation of metadata catalogs based on customer standards. The candidate will produce GEOINT in support of locating, compiling, characterizing, and monitoring mission-specific facilities, logistics and provide studies assessing terrorist networks. The analyst will exercise oral and written communication skills to present intelligence reports, graphics and briefings to convey the analysis rendered within the customer agency, military service components, DoD and national-level intelligence agencies.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

HS Diploma and at least 3 years of relevant geospatial analysis experience.

- Candidate must possess knowledge of and experience with most of the following: ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcTools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, SocetSet, TerraExplorer/Builder, Remote View, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB/VBA (or some other object oriented programming/scripting language), Oracle and other appropriate software to analyst geospatial data

- Knowledge of GEOINT collection databases and sources

- Ability to read and comprehend intelligence issues and military affairs and use GIS to develop GEOINT reports and products

Preferred Skills and Education
- Degree in GIS related field
- Prior Counterterrorism experience
- Understanding of Activity Based Intelligence
