Fire Scout Senior Field Service Engineer

Job Description

The selected candidate will assist MQ-8B/C Fire Scout Mission Control System (MCS) senior test engineer with all test and maintenance support duties to include software and hardware upgrades, operational testing, and system troubleshooting and repair. Will provide inputs to technical data exchange with partnering Government agencies and will take direction and training from the Sr Flight Test Engineer/Lab Manager.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience

Associate degree in Information Technology, Electronics Technology (or equivalent) and at least six years of related experience

Required Skills and Education

Associate degree in Information Technology, Electronics Technology (or equivalent) and at least six years of related experience
Ability to prepare systems to "flight-ready" condition
Ability to test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a Mission Control System (MCS), its subsystems and components at the organizational level to include circuit board level replacement
Familiarity with UNIX and LINUX operating systems
General knowledge base of network topologies and associated components
Ability to assist in loading and upgrading software on various components
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and tasking
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Preferred Skills and Education

Basic level experience with Microsoft Office to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Fire Scout Mission Control System (MCS) and aircraft avionics knowledge and experience
Unmanned Aerial Systems control systems and avionics knowledge and experience
