Fire Scout Mission Control System Sr Test Engineer

The selected candidate will perform MQ-8B/C Fire Scout Mission Control System (MCS) test and maintenance support duties to include software and hardware upgrades, operational testing, and system troubleshooting and repair. Will also support high level meetings as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the entire MCS and act as the senior technical authority for test and certification of systems to be deployed. Will provide technical data exchange with partnering Government agencies.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary’s County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary’s County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education High school diploma and at least 11 years of related experience

Broad and in-depth knowledge base of the Fire Scout Mission Control System (MCS)

Ability to independently prepare a Fire Scout MCS to “pre-flight” condition

Ability to test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair an MCS, its subsystems and components at the intermediate level

Working knowledge of Tactical Control System (TCS) software to include the Core Unmanned Control System (CUCS) and Vehicle Specific Module (VSM)

Proficiency with UNIX and LINUX operating systems

Strong knowledge base of network topologies and associated components

Understanding of the MCS – AV datalink exchange

Ability to load and upgrade software on various components

Ability to perform document V&V for operation and maintenance

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and tasking

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Experience with handling, loading, and storage of CCI and keymat

Ability and willingness to provide direction and training to supporting personnel

Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
