Final Factory Value Stream Leader

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a Final Factory Value Stream Leader for their Austin, Texas facility. The VSL role is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, leading, and managing activities within a team-based manufacturing environment. Major areas of responsibility include establishing and improving manufacturing capabilities for highly technical products and programs. A successful candidate will provide motivation, coaching, and leadership to team members to insure the accomplishment of business objectives including meeting safety, quality, delivery, cost and company objectives. Maintain an effective and efficient organization while effectively communicating responsibilities and objectives to employees. Select, train, and assign personnel to fulfill position requirements. Work effectively with customers and suppliers as well as supporting functions for work critical to the business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience utilizing Lean Enterprise concepts to meet or exceed business and customer requirements. The ability to work flexible hours and days to meet objectives is highly desirable. Adhere to the highest standards of legal, ethical, and business conduct in relationships with fellow employees, the Company, suppliers, customers, and the public.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

- Experience in Electronic and Mechanical Assembly operations with consistent pattern of delivering superior performance
- Hiring, developing, coaching, and leading high-performing teams
- Motivating and managing direct labor workforce
- Communicating effectively both orally and in writing
- Interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
- Training individuals and teams
- Establishing and Monitoring performance to targets
- Managing multiple tasks and priorities

Preferred Skills and Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Technical field
- Experience in low volume high complexity manufacturing environment, preferably in the electronics field
- Experience leading Kaizen teams and applying lean principles throughout the value stream
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Supply Chain, Program Management, and/or Quality experience
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 class 3 requirements
