Field Service Technician (CompTIA Network+ and A+ certification)
BAE Systems has a job opening for a Field Services Technician with CompTIA Network+ and A+ certification located in our San Jose, CA location.
Basic Job Function:
Involved with the repair of equipment and components at field locations and customer sites. Provides routine to moderately complex support. Installs, operates, tests, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide on-site technical support for software and hardware installs, hardware moves, add or changes of hardware/software for the end-user community. Address Incident tickets to include break/fix issues. Provide basic telephone support. Provide mobile device support to include iPhone/ iPad/Blackberry/ Droid. Resolve printer issues namely toner replacement, paper jams and printer maintenance. Update asset inventory via ticketing system database. Working knowledge and experience with Active directory. Utilize Remote application software to provide service to both on-site and off-site users.
Required Skills and Education Required education: High School/GED
Experience: 6+ Years experience with High School or 3+ Years experience with AA or 0+ Years experience with BS
Eligible to obtain a security clearance
At least 5 Years experience
CompTIA Network+ and A+ certification or equivalent experience Proficient in MS Office products including Lync/Skype for Business Proficient with a variety of MS Operating Systems: Win 8, Win 7, WinXP Basic understanding of networks Experience with packet capture (WireShark, etc.) Experience with Microsoft AD Knowledgeable in Asset Management Excellent customer service skills Excellent communication skills – oral and written Ability to work well with others in a team environment Demonstrated leadership experience in team environment Adheres to standards as defined in Standard Operating Procedures Hardware/Software Skills: Network printers, VoIP, Mobile devices, desktop/laptop computer hardware repair. NIC cards, TCP/IP, Exchange Email, Microsoft and LINUX OS, MS Office Suite, browsers, McAfee software, Remote Access, overall troubleshooting skills for applications running on MS Windows platform, etc. Preferred Skills and Education Excellent Analytical skills Excellent troubleshooting skills, hardware and software Excellent communication skills, oral and written Ability to work individually and well with others in a team environment Demonstrated leadership in projects and team efforts Basic networking skills Customer service oriented Ability to operate with some latitude for independent judgment and action required Actively seeks input and feedback, listens, takes action and keeps other informed in a timely manner About BAE Systems, Inc.
