Job Description
The Product Stream Manager will report to the Product Line Operations Director (PLOD), which oversees Operations for the TAC-AIR Product Line. The Product Stream Manager manages not only the microwave factory, but has responsibility and takes direction from the PLOD for the TacAir & AEWS product lines. They will also support the PLOD with critical tasks, objectives, and outputs for all matters related to the execution of microwave products for this factory.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Product Stream (Factory) Manager is responsible for the manufacturing and testing of highly complex RF Microwave Assemblies. Direct reports include Supervisors, Product Engineers, Tech Ops, and Continuous Improvement. Technology includes pick & place, manual component placement and positioning, manual assembly, manual/automated optical inspection, as well as functional and environmental test. He or she is also responsible for the training and development of 65 people over multiple shifts (including weekends). The Product Stream Manager has direct customer interface including end users, prime customers and government agencies. Strong quality and technology background a must, including familiarity with AS9100D requirements. In addition, this candidate will begin to adopt AS9145 requirements to help drive fewer defects and further control our current processes.
The Factory Manager will help eliminate and/or escalate any roadblocks from the factory, so that the factory has what they need to execute their daily activities. Day to day activities may include, but are not limited to, attending daily GEMBAs (Tier 3 specifically), supporting monthly CABs and CARBs, and driving Continuous Improvement efforts. The Factory Manager will need to establish an effective communications framework throughout the team. He or she will need to address personnel issues, escalating these to the PLOD and or Human Resources when necessary.
The Product Stream Manager will be responsible for all aspects of manufacturing, quality, cost and delivery of EW systems that reside in the TAC-AIR/AEWS Product Lines for Microwave. They will also have responsibility for supply chain execution via a matrix organization. The Product Stream Manager provides operational input to the overall TAC-AIR/AEWS program strategy when called upon.
The Product Stream Manager will work with their direct supervisors to determine and communicate labor and capacity needs, maintaining a team that is structured and staffed correctly. The Product Stream Manager would be responsible for maintaining capacity models for the factory including test capacity.

Required Skills and Education

  • Proven leadership of dynamic manufacturing organizations and teams
  • Strong communication skills (Frequent customer interface)
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Master's Degree in Business or Engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean concepts
  • RF Microwave Manufacturing and Test experience
  • 6Sigma Certification: Lean Manufacturing Green Belt/Black Belt/Master Black Belt
  • AS9100D Certified
