As a member of BAE Systems Talent Solutions Center of Expertise (COE), the Sector Talent Manager will support the Intelligence and Security (I&S) sector based in McLean, VA.

In this role, the Sector Talent Manager is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of Talent Management, including the implementation of key processes related to succession planning, talent reviews, sector talent committee, high potential assessment and development, and with providing solutions to close development and capability gaps, but to also retain talent.

The Talent Manager serves as a knowledgeable and strategic advisor/partner to the I&S sector senior leadership and will assist with identifying and developing key talent to grow the business, build current and future capability, and achieve long-term business success.

The ideal candidate for this role knows how to influence leaders to move them to action and understands business strategy and can translate strategy into an executable plan that will help the I&S Sector leadership address key talent and human capital needs that are directly related to the successful delivery of business outcomes and performance.

The Talent Manager will partner closely with Human Resources colleagues and leadership within the sector but he/she will also partner on cross-functional work with other professionals in the Talent Solutions.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education

Required Skills:

Knows “mechanics” of succession planning and performance management processes

Demonstrated skill at leading, managing and facilitating talent review and succession planning discussions

Demonstrated ability to learn and talk the language of “the client’s business”

Experience communicating the talent story through formal presentations

Skills/Competencies:

Possesses leadership presence and professional demeanor and is able to maintain when ideas/ recommendations may be met with resistance and disagreement

Develops and maintains effective relationships with a broad group of stakeholders in order to foster trust and influence key decisions

Is comfortable working with and influencing senior leaders

Is collaborative and a team player and is able to work with a high degree of independence

Is a creative problem solver; formulates recommendations using data to clearly demonstrate the value of the solution

Is results oriented; delivers results under difficult conditions and demonstrates balanced judgment under pressure; drives ideas

Can be both direct and forceful while remaining diplomatic

Excellent written, verbal and presentation/communication skills

Open-minded and flexible in both thought and tactics

Stays current with talent management trends and best practices

Operates with a high degree of integrity in dealing with sensitive information
