Job Description
The selected applicant will apply knowledge of and experience with engineering principles and techniques to test and integrate moderately complex Naval Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) Systems in support of US Naval Surface Vessels. The applicant will test and operate moderately complex C4I systems and will utilize engineering drawings and documentation to troubleshoot issues. Will work with new systems and equipment currently deployed aboard US Naval Surface Vessels. Candidate should have a good understanding of various C4I systems used throughout the US Navy. A strong background in radio frequency analysis, computer networks, and cable manufacturing is required. Candidate will be required to attend various coordination, and ship integration meetings.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Associate degree in an Engineering or Electronics discipline or equivalent education received through Navy electronics or fire control technician courses
7 years of related experience in integrated shipboard communications systems on either Surface Combatant or Amphibious class ships
Understanding of communications theory of operation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment or independently as required
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
US Navy communications knowledge / background
US Navy Electronics Technician
Background in computer networks or computer engineering
Shipboard integration experience
AutoCAD experience
Microsoft Office experience
Self-motivated
