Engineering Technologist II (Advanced Communication Systems)

Job Description
The selected candidate will oversee the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of VHF to UHF SATCOM equipment and will spend a considerable amount of time supporting military standard maritime and aviation software defined transceivers that operate in the spectrum, AN/SRC-61, AN/ARC-210 and AN/ARC-220 families.

This position will require direct customer interface, working independently or in a small team under significant schedule constraints. International travel on short notice is likely.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience
High school diploma and a minimum of 10 years of experience

Required Skills and Education
High school diploma and a minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, installation, integration and test and evaluation of electronic systems, including 6 years experience directly involved in electronic systems
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Preferred Skills and Education
Military Electronic Technician A schools
AN/SRC-61 Digital Modular Radio School
AN/ARC-210 School
At-Sea shipboard experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Active security clearance
