Engineering Support Specialist
BAE Systems is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist to join our team of diverse engineers that will provide technical support on a variety of technical tasks. Must be knowledgeable in applying practical engineering assignments including facility and experimental support hardware lay-out and design, fabrication, assembly and test; repair of capital and test equipment in support of various programs. Must meet with other engineers to define the scope of task requirements, and schedule constraints, communicates with engineers and project managers to provide status and facilitate the identification of resources needed to accomplish the task/project. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Required Skills and EducationWorking knowledge and experience in the following:Collaborate with Design Engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test dataRead and interpret planning documents, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, drawings, manuals, blueprints, and engineering sketchesAssist in assembly operations, fabrication, and layout of facility and test equipmentAssist with inspections, tests and calibrations of parts and equipment as directedInvestigate, diagnose, correct, and document instrumentation or system malfunctionsOperational knowledge of an oscilloscope & multi-meter, soldering wires & connectors, operation of various crimping tools, wire stripping, ohms law, continuity testing, pinning out a military type connector, routing & tie wrapping cables, drilling & tapping holes, and building junction boxes Preferred Skills and Education Requires an Associate’s Degree or higher in electrical engineering or its equivalent and, at least four (4) years of directly related technical experience applying the techniques and methods of measurement and instrumentation. Requires a thorough knowledge of electronic theory, instrumentation, measurement techniques, circuit analysis and construction methods.
