BAE Systems is looking for an Test Environment Lead for a Government Customer in the Springfield Virginia area. A clearance with Polygraph is required. The Test Services Lead will be responsible for the following tasks:
Technical Work Description:
This work consists of O&S of client devices connected to the Test Environment (TIDE). Major systems include Microsoft Windows end points, and Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
Tasks include:
- incident support for client devices, and keeping them patched
- maintaining patch servers with the environment
- patching the patch servers themselves, to resolve defects and security vulnerabilities
- periodic engagement with security to maintain the TIDE A&A
- maintaining an inventory of updates for consumption by endpoints and other systems as needed
- reporting compliance, as required
- working with the NTO to coordinate changes, and acceptable test / patch levels for the environment
- establish patch exclusions as necessary to support testing for systems that have waivers
- following NTO approval processes for the environment
- troubleshooting the environment as necessary

This work also consists of conducting installs, moves, adds, changes and disposal for client devices attached to the TIDE networks (workstations, thin, and zero clients and a subset of peripherals: media & authentication devices, plus cables). Work generally begins with a service desk ticket. Tasks include:
- conducting various physical changes (IMACD)
- installing devices, including drivers as necessary, and including unpacking from boxes and disposing of packaging
- confirming device function after install, move, add, change—confirmations include power on, and basic functional validation
- moving devices to/from parts depots
- joining devices to Active Directory (AD) domains, when relevant
- working with networking to ensure that devices can join networks where port security is in use
- confirming basic networking
- validating statements of volatility for devices
- removing non-volatile media for appropriate destruction, and coordinating with the customer for same
- updating online configuration management database (CMDB) to reflect accurate status of the devices
Technical skills required include Microsoft Windows and various basic devices. Skills are generally low complexity, requiring in-depth familiarity of the operations of client devices, peripherals, and software. All of these skills are suitable for cross training into almost all other services.
