The Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) manages, directs, coordinates, and provides leadership for all aspects of engineering activities supporting the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) IT O&M Program. The LSE is also responsible for planning, design, operational system enhancement implementation, test, integration, and deployment of a range of products and/or services. He or she ensures sound engineering practices are followed. The LSE manages or directs professional employees, supervisors, and/or other managers and generally has budget and deadline responsibilities. In addition, the LSE provides direction for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities, maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly. Finally, the LSE manages or directs engineering staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, performance evaluation,

and disciplinary actions.
