BUSINESS AREA BACKGROUND:

The Instrumentation Products and Sustainment business unit (IP&S) is headquartered in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. BAE Systems has over 40 years of experience in designing and manufacturing Instrumentation Radar Systems, Electro-Optical Systems, Test Range Asset Modernizations and Upgrades. Our capabilities include design, fabrication and integration of hardware and software to support a wide variety of test range requirements including RF and Electro Optical (EO) TSPI Instrumentation, Threat Simulators, CW Doppler and EO Behavioral Systems, Drop and No-Drop Bomb Scoring Systems, Telemetry Systems and Flight Termination Systems.

The technologies and resources of BAE Systems is dedicated to designing, manufacturing, integrating, and sustaining range products that are required for current test ranges and programs envisioned for future test ranges, aviation test facilities and launch facilities.

I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Primary experience is related to high-precision tracking radar systems and associated electronic disciplines to include digital and analog signal processing, high power RF transmitters, receivers, antennas, antenna positioning systems, computers and computer interfaces, visible and infrared optical sensors.

Job Duties:

Provide technical support for various engineering systems. Including Large Phased Array radar, radar algorithms such as beam steering, beam forming, tracking and signal processing.

Designs, develops, tests radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products. Includes antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters and receivers.

Leads small teams and/or be a contributor in an area such as Radar Warning Receivers (RWR), system resource management, antennas (including phased arrays), atmospheric propagation of RF signals, RF System Design/Analysis, Analog/Digital Receiver Architecture, Digital Signal Processing, Detection Theory, Tracking and Estimation.

Prepares documentation for system designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures. Performs systems engineering functions such as developing and managing systems level requirements, developing operational systems concepts, performing system architecture trade studies, originating design concepts or performing systems level integration and test for highly complex systems.

Verifies and validates aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.

Other Responsibilities:

Prepare and present technical presentations to peers, senior leaders, and Customers. Support business development efforts. Generate ideas for potential proposals. Contributor to new proposals.
