Electronic Warfare Technician

The selected candidate will align, test, troubleshoot, and repair the AN/SLQ-32(V) countermeasure system and NULKA decoy launcher system in accordance with US Navy maintenance standards and procedures. Train shipboard personnel on proper maintenance and operating procedures of the shipboard Electronic Warfare System. Compose and submit daily reports detailing testing progress and present oral briefs to ship’s force personnel when required. Testing will be accomplished on CG, DDG, CVN, and LHA class ships in various homeports. Travel to various homeports will be required.

This position is located in Chesapeake, VA . There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Chesapeake, VA or surrounding areas.

Prior US Navy or Coast Guard shipboard experience

Ability to work in a shipyard environment and wear all required PPE

Active security clearance and ability to maintain

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematic drawings, and shipboard installation drawings

Ability to interface and communicate with senior and junior shipboard personnel

High school diploma and at least eight years of related experience Preferred Skills and Education Basic Electronics school

Experience as a technical instructor
