Electronic Warfare (ESM/EA) Software Engineer

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking talented Senior Principle Level Software engineers who are looking for a company that fosters a work environment in which technical excellence is highly valued. You will be an integrated team member collaborating with System, Hardware, and Test engineers in one or more of the phases of Project Planning, Requirements Development, Design, Development, Integration and Testing. You will apply your skills to develop high-quality real-time Electronic Warfare (ESM/EA) embedded software for either new or fielded electronics platforms.

Duties include developing complex Radar Warning and/or Electronic Attack software architecture and designs on projects. You will be leading the evaluation of complex Radar Warning and/or Electronic Attack software designs to identify design flaws. You will lead real-time, embedded software development in C++ utilizing sound Object Oriented principles and conforming to existing code development strategies and processes. You will prepare complex design documentation intended to be used within complex programs or across sets of programs in accordance with established processes. You will utilize either a Windows PC or Linux based software development environment. Embedded targets could range from PowerPC to Micro Blaze to the latest technologies. You will be integrating and testing in the selected target test environments. You are recognized among peers in a specialty.

You will provide Software Project Management reporting, documentation and providing updates to Program Management. You will be the Technical leader or Software Project Manager on medium sized project initiatives (5-10 Engineers). You will actively support external project interactions with other companies.

You will represents the organization as the software contact on contracts and projects. You will brief customers regularly on software concepts and issues. You will be responsible for software sections of medium sized proposals and provides costing information for those sections (perhaps leading a team to do so).

You will be reporting to a Section Leader.

Typical Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Requires:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Science, or other Scientific degree with suitable software engineering content, with 12+ years of experience or Master's degree in same with 10+ years experience or PhD in same with 7+ years related experience.

Must be a US Citizen and has either previously held a secret clearance or higher, or currently has an interim secret clearance or higher.

Need to be proficient in:

- Requirements Management
- Version Control
- Continuous Integration Tools
- Unit Testing

Local candidates preferred.
