This occupation requires the installation, construction, modification, and testing, repair, calibration, maintenance and overhaul of industrial electrical systems and e2uipment utilized in company facilities. (This occupation excludes electrical assembly and maintenance work on products and their component parts and initial construction of off-site facilities)
Primary duties and responsibilities;
Determine the methods and sequence of operations required to locate, install, test, repair and modify industrial electrical systems and equipment by interpreting blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and following technical verbal or written instructions. Apply manufacturers and underwriters specifications. state and municipal codes and ordinances.
Diagnose and correct malfunctions in electrical systems and equipment to assure conformance to specifications and requirements. Compute wire gage and power and load limit requirements when this information is not furnished.
Perform complete overhaul of electrical motors and related equipment. Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance as well as preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment electrical systems, substation switch gear and electronic controlled VFD's.
Understand and know electrical shop theory, practice and procedures. Understand complex wiring and circuit diagrams and installation and construction blueprints. Use mathematics involving algebra, and electrical handbooks and charts. Maintain necessary records and paperwork. Develop test, inspection and surveillance procedures as required.
