Job Description

BAE Systems, Electronic Combat Solutions is seeking Engineering Electronics Assistants for our Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) business area! This role will perform a wide variety of assignments including the layout, test, troubleshooting, modification and repair of complex precision electronic subsystems or systems. Works under the general direction of engineering personnel in a research, design/development environment. The qualified candidates will work in a dynamic engineering lab and/or operations environment. Opportunities exist to support complex digital circuit board and/or RF/microwave testing and associated tasks.

  • Conducts various tests or experiments of moderate complexity, which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures and the selection, and/or adaptation of standard procedures and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, debugs, tests and performs precision measurements on a variety of electronics equipment requiring the effective use of equipment such as oscilloscopes, audio oscillators, standing wave amplifiers, audio amplifiers, network analyzers, multimeters, watt meters, etc. Utilizes computer aided design tools as required.
  • Processes and computes data using specified formulas and procedures or prepared technical documentation.
  • Performs routine analysis of data to check and verify applicability, practicality and accuracy.
  • Extracts, compiles and interprets a variety of technical data such as charts, data sheets and graphs, under general supervisory direction, and presents such data in prescribed format as required.
  • Constructs, adapts and modifies electronic assemblies, systems and subsystems to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Required Skills and Education

    Requires an Associate's Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or four (4) years directly related experience.
