Electrical Engineer - Principal

Job Description

The position is in a long established engineering group that prepares design requirements and military construction (MILCON) documentation for the SSP TRIDENT submarine program at naval bases at Bangor WA and Kings Bay GA. The incumbent will develop design criteria and MILCON documentation, review Architect Engineer (A/E) design submittals including plans and specifications conduct site surveys, prepare and execute facility electrical evaluation tests and prepare professional level engineering studies and reports.

There is no relocation assistance available for this position. If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.

Typical Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Candidates must ensure that resume addresses all stated requirements of the posted requisition. Only resumes that specifically include all required skills/experience/education, will be considered.

Degree must specialize in electrical power, or similar electrical discipline with at least 4 years of related professional work experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
EIT
Work experience in power distribution
Working knowledge of NFPA NEC.
Ability to communicate well in English, both writing and verbally.

Preferred Skills and Education

Highly desired skills/education/experience:

Master's Degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering.
Work experience in lighting, grounding and bonding and lightning protection systems.
Experience in MILCON facilities programs.
Navy CEC experience or Army Corp of Engineer Experience.
Familiar with NAVSEA OP5 and Electrical requirements for Ordnance facilities.
Some working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Ability to obtain PE in 3 years
