Electrical Engineer II

BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated ElectricalEngineer to join the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Landing Systems program. Theselected candidate will collaborate and work with a multi-disciplinary team ina research and development environment of a military test and evaluationfacility.

The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team providingengineering services to United States Navy Air Traffic Control Systemsworldwide. As an electrical engineer he/she will support the productdesign team. This will be done by the design, development and selectionof basic electronic circuits employing fundamental electrical engineeringprinciples, theories and methods. Assigned functions may include design anddevelopment of components to meet specified design requirements. Theselected candidate will serve as a project engineer for the support of taskingwhich involves system concept formulation, system and subsystem designanalysis, interface design analysis, field service analysis, andinstallation/integration/test and evaluation, and production of current andfuture Military Air Traffic Control systems. This candidate will review andprepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, andother technical documentation. Candidate will interface directly with theGovernment customer during daily technical interface meetings. The selectedcandidate will perform electrical engineering work which is specific in natureand requires knowledge and application of basic engineering principles, theoriesand concepts to complete assignments under direct technical supervision. Astrong understanding of analog and digital circuits is required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate in the investigation, development and testing where overalloperational, space, functional and similar design requirements have beenspecified. Design or select available designs to meet requirements. Evaluatemerits of design with higher skilled engineers.

2. Receives directions and instructions in the form of assignment objectives,alternative approaches and solutions from supervisor or senior engineeringpersonnel.

3. Work from specific assignments from supervisor or senior engineeringpersonnel which may include design and development of electrical and electronicsubassemblies, compilation of data for research investigation; performance ofparameters that have been determined; analysis of test data; calculation ofresults.

4. Instruct and direct the work of technicians, if assigned.

5. Prepare charts, diagrams and reports expressing technical progress andaccomplishments measured against specific plans.

6. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Thisposition is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary’sCounty Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval AirStation.

Thereis no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in orstate willingness to relocate self to St. Mary’s County, Maryland orsurrounding areas.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of work experience Required Skills and Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university

Two years of related work experience

Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills and Education

Experience with Altium, Orcad, Inventor, and SolidWorks

Experience with creating schematics

Electrical design experience
