Director, Supply Chain Austin/Huntsville

Job Description

The incumbent will lead the procurement, planning and logistics teams for the Austin (ABC) and Huntsville (HBC) Business Centers. These business centers are part of the Survivability, Targeting and Sensing Solutions (STS) business area. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the procurement, planning and logistics processes as well as extensive experience leading a team of supply chain professionals in a growing mil-aerospace environment. This senior position interfaces regularly with other senior leaders from programs, manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, finance, contracts, global sourcing and suppliers. The Director of Supply Chain for ABC/HBC will create and drive progressive processes and systems to support the growth of the Business Area and Business Center goals and objectives. The incumbent will drive the formulation and implementation of progressive sourcing, supplier management, material planning and logistics strategies. The incumbent will support proposal activities as needed. The Director of Supply Chain for ABC/HBC will lead the supply chain transition from design and development into production; be a champion of cross-functional teams whose mission is to ensure that BAE is leveraging spend, driving best value and improving overall supplier performance management, including Zero Defects. The incumbent will perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

All duties are accomplished following established and approved procurement, planning and logistics policies and procedures. The Director of Supply Chain for ABC/HBC is responsible for Procurement Compliance, Cost/Price Analysis and adherence to the Small Business Program guidelines.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
Ability to evaluate supply chain needs, identify and develop integrated and detailed supply chain and logistics plans. Ability to effectively direct personnel from various functional departments. Ability to improve processes in all supply chain areas (logistics, planning, procurement). Ability to strengthen team performance and implement a service delivery model that meets or exceeds customer requirements. Certified or trained in Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. History of developing and leading high performance teams.

Preferred Skills and Education
Bachelor's Degree with at least twelve (12) years of procurement, planning, logistics, materials management, subcontract or related experience managing suppliers, costs, schedules and quality attributes. Experience leading the supply chain for Department of Defense Programs.

Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule.
