Director, Marine Corps Programs provides expertise to the Electronics Systems Sector Leadership involving marketing, business development and support of current business activities with US Marine Corps Headquarters and Syscoms. This position requires that applicants display unique qualifications by demonstrating expertise in the knowledge Marine Requirements generation, budget development and acquisition system.

The position requires development of and maintaining close trusted partner relationships with key HQMC Deputy Commandants and their staffs.

The position will contribute to the identification, qualification and creation of new business opportunities, to the prioritization of new business and to the development of marketing plans and capture strategies for new US Marine business opportunities.

The Director, Marine Corps Programs will report to the VP of US Customer Requirements & Advocacy in Arlington VA and support the business areas of the Electronic Systems Sector of BAE Systems Inc. He/she will regularly interface with the US Marine operational units, requirements, budgeting and acquisition organizations.

The customers would include all relevant Marine mission areas associated with current and future Marine Strategy. All acquisition life cycle phases for BAE Systems products will be supported from concept development to retirement. The position will coordinate with and support ES Business Areas by identifying customer strategy, requirements and needs.

When facing the US Marine customer, the Director Marine Corps Programs will highlight BAE Systems capabilities and solutions.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information as well as maintain BAE Systems highest ethical standards.

Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent military experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Secret clearance required, Top Secret clearance desired (or eligibility for same)
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree desired
  • Operational Experience with US Marine Corps Aviation Units and functions of the US Marine Corps
  • Understanding of DoD Requirements, Acquisition and Budget development processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Preferred Skills and Education
  • Thorough understanding of the US Marine Corps marketplace, its customers and the ability to think strategically and champion future opportunities
  • Experience in US Marine/NAVAIR acquisition, HQMC requirements development and budgeting
  • Expertise in strategy and lifecycle management
  • Experience working at a Joint, HQMC and/or COCOM level
  • Active Top Secret (TS)
  • Master's degree
