Data Automation and Technical Publications Team Member
Assist in Data Automation and Technical Publications endeavors. Compile, categorize, monitor, manipulate and maintain computer related data and Technical Manual information supporting project(s) and program(s) and operation(s).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Convert and extract digitized data, imports and exports data to populate spreadsheets and tables used to populate databases and create various reports.
Gathers data from various internal and external government system sources
Verify source material, edit, correct data, and cross references to assure accuracy and completeness.
Reformat and manipulate data for proper population of spreadsheets, tables, and Access databases.
Compiles, Computes and analyzes varied aircraft avionics and systems related technical data (Parts, End Item, Units Under Test, Components, Technical Orders, Time Compliance Technical Order, etc).
Compiles technical and other project data using various database programs for inclusion in reports or presentation materials. Prepares standard and specialized analysis reports to include charts and graphs to illustrate reports.
Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
Performs other related duties as assigned such as incorporating changes into Air Force Technical Manuals, performing Quality Assurance on reports, databases, function of hyperlinks, PDF conversions and text accuracy, etc. Edit material for spelling, grammar, syntax, capitalization, consistency, format and conformance to specifications.
Monitors status and progress of work to ensure compliance and quality assurance with task orders. Maintains individual responsibility for tracking projects and follow up on timelines and deliverables.
Required Skills and Education
Required Skill Knowledge and Ability (SKA): Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Access and Word applications are essential. Must be able to create simple to complex formulas and charts in Excel, import/export data in Excel, and use Access.
Preferred SKA: Ability to create Access databases, import data, and run queries with the understanding on how to perform "Append To", "Update" and "CrossTab" queries. Prefer Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Omni Page applications; also use of one or more of the following: Framemaker, Adobe IPDF, Arbortext Epic Editor, CAD.
Desired Experience: Access Database development, USAF Technical Manuals and Military Technical Publications standards experience. Working with teams responsible for USAF and CSTO technical publications editing and illustrations.
Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED and 6 years related experience required.
Must be available for work weekday schedule in normal office environment as needed.
