Configuration Manager/Specialist-Level 3

Functional Purpose Researches, develops and implements configuration management tools and activities including but not limited to requirement analysis, identification of configuration items, and software and hardware version control and management. Collaborates with IT and vendors to design, develop, automate, test, and implement software configuration standards and requirements.

Conducts requirement analysis, process review, fit gap analysis, and provides technical expertise to IT and vendors to facilitate planning, set direction, and build and develop software configuration requirements. 2. Collaborates with stakeholders to document requirements, identify processes, document gaps. Develops and provides recommendations to bridge gaps and enhance processes. 3. Develops and manages plans to support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) within a scrum/agile environment. 4. Researches emerging technologies in the area of automated system requirements and testing tools; designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools used to test and improve software.

5. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure software product operating parameters are documented and comply with standard hardware configurations and are sustainable. 6. Develops a change management process to define configuration items and classes, baselines, and the change control/change control board processes; monitors change implementation and makes recommendations for improvements. 7. Develops system test plans and build procedures to ensure business information systems, workflow, and processes meet stakeholder requirements and are performing within business standards. 8. Assesses, improves and institutionalizes requirement management and test management / quality assurance processes. 9. Assists in the development and implementation of new policy, systems, procedures and training. Coordinates the communication of policies and procedures with employees and stakeholders. 10. Monitors performance and evaluates business information systems relative to functional availability, reliability and scalability; accuracy of design, configuration and implementation; develops reports and recommendations based on review findings.
