Configuration Management Specialist

Responsibilities include the following:

Perform Configuration Management (CM) in accordance with the SCSC Configuration Management Plan and Procedures in accordance with SCSCINST 4130.10 (series).

Perform Configuration Item (CI) identification. Verify the items installed against the approved configuration baseline.

Document new CIs in the Government CM / 3M databases. Provide quarterly reports of the current status of CIs.

Perform Configuration Control. Provide engineering support for preparation and technical review of change packages.

Perform Configuration Status Accounting (CSA). Perform configuration analysis and update of configuration databases and files.

Perform Government property inventory, tracking, auditing and accountability for Government approval.

Perform Configuration Audits (CA). Report on the results of audits and plans to correct discrepancies.

Perform coordination, scheduling, and planning for field modifications to include Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Ordinance Alternations (ORDALTs), Field Changes (FCs), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). Contractor CM shall generate and submit change packages for field modifications to the Government.

Implement Government approved change packages.

Update drawings, databases, and documentation.

Annotate equipment, cabling, and computer programs that have been temporarily altered from the approved configuration during troubleshooting and restore such alterations to the approved configuration.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Minimum education and related years of work experience: High School/GED and at least 10 years of experience in configuration management, conducting a Configuration Control Board, and life-cycle management of combat systems equipment

Security clearance requirement: Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer letter and start date will be delayed until at least an interim Secret clearance is granted.

Also required:

Must be willing and able to provide a state issued driver’s license and complete DMV records upon date of hire. If position requires driving a vehicle 10k lbs and more than 15 passengers, selected candidate must also provide proof of completion of Navy Driver Training.
