Configuration Anst II
This position is part of the BAE Systems team at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport.
There is no relocation assistance available for this position. If relocation is required the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.
BAE Systems seeks a Configuration Analyst to provide logistical and technical support to Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport.
Perform configuration management operations, integrating actions required of various activities into comprehensive configuration identification and configuration status accounting processes supporting the VIRGINIA Class Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems Program.
Development and maintenance of configuration data for new construction hulls and/or new systems aboard modernized hulls employing policies and practices of Technical Specification 9090 - 700 (Ship Configuration and Logistics Support Information Systems (SCLSIS) Configuration Data Manager Database-Open Architecture ( CDMD-OA ) and NAVSEAINST 4130.12B Configuration Management Guidance & Policy.
Perform logistics review of products, such as, engineering change proposals, engineering change instructions, alterations, operational logistics support summary documents, integrated logistics support plans, configuration management plans, logistics certifications, drawings, specifications for direct incorporation into NPES configuration records with strict compliance towards technical specification 9090-700 policies and practices.
Establish and evaluate new configuration baselines Configuration Overhaul Planning (COP) data in CDMD-OA for VIRGINIA Class hulls based on Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements, Hierarchical Structural Codes and systems designations.
Work with contractors and other government agencies for the resolution of issues or discrepancies identified with configuration data to include modification of technical documentation and procedural errors.
Participate in program sponsored Integrated Product Team meetings, annual configuration validations, summits and readiness reviews.
Travel is expected to multiple locations in support of annual configuration validations, summits, meetings and readiness reviews. Travel duration may exceed 1 week per travel trip and may involve climbing ladders to heights in excess of 20 feet, crawling around machinery and accessing tight spaces. Climbing, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling and reading small print are physical requirements to perform assigned tasking and are required to validate installed equipment aboard naval vessels. Use of Personal Protection Equipment (i.e., Hard Hat, protective eyewear, steel toe safety boots and coveralls) will be required.
The selected individual must be a motivated team player with effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to seek answers to difficult technical problems. All candidates should have a proven track record of being able to plan, prioritize, and deliver assigned projects on time.
