Computer/Network Architect

Candidate will lead a team responsible for securely upgrading and modifying classified and unclassified Wide Area Networks and the associated Local Area Networks supporting 52 global locations providing network and communication services to approximately 12,000 users. The team managed by this candidate will develop, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of the Enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This position participates in the Enterprise Requirements Board and the Enterprise Configuration Control Board. Responsible for developing/refining ITIL and eTOM based processes and procedures for the identification, prioritization and successful execution of configuration items and their retention in the Enterprise CMDB. Supports configuration management audits and quality assurance reviews. Utilizes System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), SolarWinds, Remedy, and other applications to support configuration management and control activities. Conducts technical analysis to develop and maintain DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF) views and other network architecture documents. Creates new processes for technology insertion into unclassified and classified computer systems/networks for the government. Ensures test and development network mimics operational system. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education

  • Extensive experience as a computer/server/network administrator
  • Proficient using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Proficient using SolarWinds
  • Ability to coordinate administrative activities with specific attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of the purpose for DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF) and the ability to create DODAF views
  • Must be able to multitask, set priorities and achieve success
  • Ability to work for senior officials in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot, update, patch, and configure MS Windows Operating Systems
  • Unix management experience
  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience required
  • Experience using Remedy trouble ticketing systems
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must possess and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT II baseline certification. This is a Security+ (CE), SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, GCIH, GCED, CASP, or CISSP (or Associate) certification (CISSP or CASP preferred)
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance
