BAE Systems is seeking a dynamic, social media-savvy employee communications intern to support a wide variety of corporate communications and employee engagement initiatives and capabilities in BAE Systems, Inc.'s headquarters located in Arlington, Virginia.
This internship role will provide support in executing employee-targeted communication tactics and strategies to inform, engage and inspire our workforce. Primary duties include content creation, copy writing and editing, as well as communication campaign planning and execution. Basic photography, image editing and video skill are a plus. In addition to working with the employee engagement team, the role will also support social media and recruitment marketing by adapting internal content for use by employee social media ambassadors and the recruitment team
Candidates must be able to adapt their writing style to the demands of different channels for different audiences. In addition, candidates must have a demonstrated excellence in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail. Project management is critical for this role, including the ability to work independently with individuals across the company to package their messages and share their stories.
The Company seeks a detail-oriented, creative and ambitious self-starter who will be inspired to make a difference for the workforce that BAE Systems employee communications serve. This role will work in a team-oriented environment and strive to support multiple communications professionals in the organization to enhance employee engagement, promote diversity and inclusion, and strengthen workforce pride and purpose. The role reports to the Manager, Employee & HR Communications and is a paid internship.

Program team member checking the work of others.

Min. Education:
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Communication, Journalism or other related field.

Pref. Experience:
Content creation and journalism experience targeted at diverse audiences.

Min. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The ability to write persuasively, conveying complex concepts in understandable language, in both long form (magazine-style stories) and short form (social media snippets) is critical to this position.
