Job Description

BAE Systems Hawaii Shipyards is hiring a Procurement Analyst in out Procurement Department. The candidate will report directly to the Procurement Manager. The candidate will also interact with various department heads, team members along with our customers. The selected candidate will be responsible to procure materials, equipment, supplies and services of a moderately complex and specialized nature which may require customizing to meet specification. This is accomplished following established and approve policies and procedures, Hawaii Delegation of Authority in to provide the lowest cost consistent with quality and service requirements while maintaining good vendor relations.

Locates and promotes possible new sources of supply, Keep abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in assign markets, and new or altered type of materials entering the market.

Ensures company practices represents the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specifications requirements, delivery, reliability of source and budget. Solicit price and availability on various commodities, equipment, and services. Reviews quotes and determines best source of supply. Reviews approved requisitions for completeness and process requisitions into purchase orders. Reviews order for accuracy prior to distribution to supplier.

Interacts with suppliers, distributors and manufacturers to establish and maintain good vendor relations. Works closely with key personnel to maintain inventory and quality standards for material, components and supply requirements.

Supports all audits in justification of the purchase order packages.

Obtains pricing and cost data for proposal efforts and for new or change order work.

Maintains essential records and issues reports as required concerning purchases, prices and suppliers.

Reconciles P-Card transactions through Concur on a weekly basis. Reviews their outstanding list via KTA and is responsible to clear out invoices that requires reconciling.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

8+ years of related work experience with High School diploma
4+ years of related work experience with an Associates Degree
2+ years of related work experience with a Bachelor Degree

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain base access to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam
Must be able to work 6am to 2:30pm, M-F and overtime as needed
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Must exhibit the ability to apply analytical thought process to resolve issues in a variety of complex situation with limited supervision
Must be able to interact with a variety of people in a variety of settings. Ensure that inter-department and customer relations are maintained
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook)
Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
Must have previous experience working in Procurement or similar type role
Must be able to use office equipment (fax, copier and scanner)

Preferred Skills and Education

Knowledge of Ship Repair Electronic Procurement (SREP)
Costpoint, OneTouch, KTA, Concur
Knowledge of Ship Repair Industry a plus
