Business Segment Director - Customer Support and Services
BAE Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Business Segment Director to lead the Customer Support and Services area for the Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) business area. This is a significant segment of the business with a critical customer base. In this role you will drive business growth by leading new business activities in areas such as services and asset management. This segment supports over 600 global customers (primarily commercial airline operators) utilizing CAS' equipment. You will be responsible for leading technical support, services (repairs, overhauls, modifications, and enhancements), and asset management (spare sales, asset management programs, leasing, and exchanges) for airline, OEM, third party maintenance providers, and military operators. This role includes leading personnel located in the U.S., Brazil, United Kingdom, Singapore, and China. As a key member of the CAS leadership team, you will lead and support business growth and work with your team to generate products and services that enhance the operational performance of airline fleets.
Leading in an ethical manner in line with BAE Systems' values, you will plan and achieve acceptable financial objectives, develop and progress long-term business plans, and monitor and ensure effective support, services and asset performance. You will be responsible to develop strategies and to oversee the identification, pursuit, and capture of new business opportunities. You will regularly interface with customers to ensure their expectations are met, problems resolved, issues surfaced, and potential new business opportunities identified. You will also develop effective working relationships internally, with suppliers, and with joint venture partners.
This position is based in Endicott, NY.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and at least 12 years of relevant work experience, at least 10 years of which is within the commercial aerospace aftermarket segment focused on aircraft systems or buyer furnished equipment.
- Significant experience in working with airlines and proven success with managing technical support, services and asset management.
- Experience in developing new offerings for customers that improve and enhance the operational efficiency of airline fleets, and will have experience developing and executing commercial negotiation strategies, commercial terms and conditions, long-term agreements, cost take-out and pricing proposals.
- Able to demonstrate successful leadership of distributed teams and support to distributed customers.
Preferred Skills and Education
Master's degree in related field, avionics experience, engineering educational background, and PMP certification are preferred.
