Business Development Director - Strategic IC Accounts

Job Description

The C4ISR Systems business is seeking a Director Business Development, Strategic Intelligence Community (IC) Accounts located in Reston, VA reporting directly to the Vice President, Business Development for C4ISR to further develop our IC business. This position will be responsible for creating an IC Strategic Account Business Development strategy, identifying, qualifying, and pursuing large opportunities. This position will need to bring existing IC customer relationships while developing and maintaining strong business relationships with key decision makers in the C4ISR business, identify and qualify business opportunities, and position BAE Systems for bidding, including the following:

  • Bring IC customer relationships
  • Industry relationships
  • Develop effective win strategies which include identifying and qualifying new opportunities
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities in excess of $250M
  • Conduct competitive analysis
  • Work with capture and proposal teams to develop winning proposals
Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree and:
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience leading a Business Development/Capture team for winning new contracts in the IC market
    • Minimum of 10 years of high-technology solutions development and marketing experience for both defense and commercial solutions
  • Senior level Business Development strategy creation and execution skills that lead to the winning of new opportunities within the IC market
  • Current high-level IC customer contacts and the ability to leverage these contacts and relationships into qualified business opportunities
  • Ability to effectively apply Solution Selling techniques to better manage the customer's buying process
  • Demonstrated success in being part of a winning a large >$200M IC programs
  • Ability to manage a capture campaigns across a long 18-24 month sales cycle
  • Ability to maintain customer relationships with General Officer (07 and above) Government officials
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Master's of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent
