Business Analyst

Job Description

This position reports into the Enterprise Shared Service (ESS) director responsible for Operational Improvement. The role will support the identification, evaluation, management, and execution of process improvement initiatives undertaken by ESS utilizing skills, training, and experience working in a Shared Services environment (Human Resources, Finance, Procurement and Information Technology). The role will develop methodologies to define, measure, analyze, improve and control specific activities to improve areas within Shared Services. The job leads technical and functional areas to conduct process management, improvement and utilizing the skills and techniques within each of those areas, such as, but not limited to; Voice of Customer, Process Mapping, Data Analysis/Modeling, Fishbone Diagram, Regression Analysis and Process Control. The role leads technical and functional owners through a clearly defined Continuous Improvement activity requiring strong planning and relationship building skills combined with meaningful experience with data and performance management.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Degree in statistical process control, process improvement, computer science, or business
  • 5 year professional experience working on process improvement efforts or leading projects; or equivalent certification - PMP or 6 Sigma Black Belt
  • Proficiency with data tools, specifically Excel
  • Strong process mapping skills, specifically in Viso
  • Mature writing skills, capable of articulating technical and functional activities in layman terms
  • Experience interfacing with functional and technical leads, management and customers
  • Significant attention to detail, tracking of actions/activities and follow-through to completion
Preferred Skills and Education
  • 5-7 years' experience preferred
  • Familiarity with business systems including Oracle financials, Ariba, Concur, PeopleSoft, Autotime and Deltek
  • Experience with leading continuous improvement efforts or managing projects (PMP or 6 Sigma Black Belt preferred)
  • Significant experience managing/manipulating/reporting data
