Automated Software Test Engineer

The Automated Software Test Engineer should have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, and possess a demonstrated ability in designing, developing, and deploying complex LabView and TestStand test applications, such as high performance data acquisition and control, in the presence of multi-threaded, multi-protocol communications.

Commercial Instrumentation, as well as Military Radio, Radar, Navigation, and Electronic Warfare interfaces will be prime applications. Failure mode analysis, timing synchronization, and closed loop feedback will require high competencies in LabView / CVI / PXI technology / Flex-Rio.

A strong emphasis on team cohesion, as it relates to LabWindows CVI / LabView / TestStand programming conventions, is required. Ability to generate high quality Validation sequences, Calibration sequences, Test Reports, estimates, design review material, and presentation packages, is critical.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education The Senior Software Test Engineer will participate in test requirement development to create clearly defined and structured Test Requirement Specifications (TRSs) and Test Design Description (TDD) documents for a given product to support In-Process, Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), and Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) testing, and then use them to develop high level test scripts that sequence the test events into a product Test Program Set (TPS).

They will then be responsible for integrating, verifying, validating and releasing the TPS that meets those requirements.

Types of product that the Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for include: board level tests using boundary scan, module level tests of analog, digital, RF, and hybrid systems at the assembly, Line Replaceable Card/Module/Unit, and subsystem levels using both vendor supplied and custom measurement and test instruments.

Responsibilities will also include the development of instrument drivers, utilities, and executables used to support testing and verification activities, such as the command, control, and measurement of ancillary support equipment such as thermal chambers, product chillers, and other environmental conditioning equipment for system development, production, and sustainment testing activities.

Preferred Skills and Education Possess the skills for Interface Protocol Support using: IEEE-488, I2C, SPI, USB, 1553, NTDS, RS-485/422/232, Serial, SNMP, TCP/IP, HTML, Ethernet, JTAG

Capable of providing Hardware Support utilizing: Spectrum Analyzers, Network/Signal Analyzers, Signal Generators, RF Power Meters, RF Attenuators/Switches/Couplers, Function/Waveform Generators, Data Acquisition and Control Systems, DMMs, High Voltage P/Ss, Analog I/O, Digital I/O, RF I/O, National Instruments PXI/VXI Software Support: LabView, Test Stand, LabWindows CVI, LV Real Time, CVI Real Time, Flex-Rio, VB6, C++, VSS, VSS Automation, Word/Excel Automation, SQL, SQL Automation, Visio, AutoCAD.
