ATC Systems Specialist II

Job Description
The selected applicant will provide overall technical, operator and training support for the AN/TPN-31(V) Air Traffic Navigation, Integration and Coordination System (ATNAVICS) In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) located in St. Inigoes, Maryland. Ensures the system operates in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Navy plans, policies and procedures. Reviews proposed engineering modifications for their impact on the operations environment and software. Plans and conducts analysis of ATNAVICS operator functionality, test plans, site survey data and work processes. Coordinates, schedules, and conducts FAA flight inspections and local flight testing as required. Provides technical assistance to field personnel on operational capabilities to address problems quickly and implement corrective action, which often requires the coordination of on-site activities with all affected personnel.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience
High school diploma and at least 5 years of Air Traffic Control experience

Required Skills and Education
High school diploma and at least 5 years of Air Traffic Control experience
FAA certified air traffic controller
Knowledge of FAA flight inspection procedures
Operational experience with the AN/TPN-31(V) ATNAVICS
Experience researching and building Radar Video Maps
Familiarity with MS Office applications
Superior communication skills
Ability to obtain/maintain the required security clearance

Preferred Skills and Education
Experience with the ATNAVICS Database Management Software
Proficiency interpreting Standard Instrument Approach Procedures
Experience providing classroom instruction and On-the-Job training
Familiarity with UNIX operating language
Active security clearance
