Responsible for supporting adherence to all aspects of the SAP Security Compliance Program as stipulated by DoD 5205.07 and other program security directives.

The individual will work under the guidance and direction of the Security Manager. The assignments of the Security Specialist II, ACPSO are focused on helping to administer a robust security program for several projects located in the Totowa and Wayne facilities. The ACPSO helps to implement all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on DoD 5205.07 SAP Manual, Vols 1-4 & ICD 705, and exhibits the dedication and expectation of a seasoned security professional while working and making decisions independently without direct supervision. The ACPSO works as a team player, exhibits flexibility, sets priorities, and manages customer expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ACPSO interacts with internal and external customers or Government security officials in performance of security duties.

Additional assignments include physical security, information security, security education and awareness, document & media control, personnel security, data transfers, visitor control, maintain security files, handle & processing classified documents, and other security support activities as assigned by the Security Manager. Prepare and conduct Program Security Awareness Briefings, develop security plans, goals, and objectives to comply with existing directives and future requirements. Briefing & indoctrinate program personnel on the proper application of security procedures. Interpret and provide classification guidance to employees, participate in self-inspections as well as CSA reviews, and investigate security incidents. Support other security related tasks as assigned by the Security Manager. Normal office environment; may work extended hours, weekends. Travel may be required on a limited basis.

Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree

Required Skills and Education

  • Experience in Special Program Security (SAP or SCI)
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions
  • Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, effective communication, and the ability to perform in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • JPAS and SIMS experience
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
