BAE Systems is looking to hire an Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO)/ Alternate Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO) supporting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Contractor Program Security Officers (CPSO) for multiple programs executed out of the Austin, TX campus. As the AFSO/ ACPSO, you will work closely with security management to e nsure compliance with U.S. Government directives, regulations and requirements as well as corporate/business unit directives and customer directed requirements. Along with the FSO, manage all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Ensuring National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) compliance within the facility and assigned program staff on all aspects of special program security.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Required Skills and Education

  • Active Secret Clearance (within a 5 year scope).
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of the U.S. Government security standards.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents using various office tools (i.e. MS Office, JPAS, SIMS and ISFD).
  • Support Customer visits to include Security Vulnerability Assessments.
  • Conducts investigation of non-compliance issues and reviews all security violations.
  • Conducts security briefings to include, new hire orientation, refresher training, SSA training, and program specific security briefings.
  • Responsible for the compliance of Security Practice and Procedures (SPP).
  • Ensuring closed area requirements are met and ultimately certifying physical construction paperwork.
  • Knowledgeable on International requirements to include: Government to Government shipments, Foreign Visitor requirements and Export compliance.
  • Interprets policy, develops and implements security plans and procedures.
  • As Security Manager, manage and/or support any (or potential) Special Access Programs within facility.
  • Support Customer visits to include Security Vulnerability Assessments.
  • Provides security guidance to company personnel advises Security Director and Senior Management.
  • Conducts investigation of non-compliance issues and reviews all security violations.
  • Submit all reports to CSA to include: Adverse Information, Suspicious contacts, and reports of Loss, Compromise or Suspected compromise.
  • Conducts security briefings to include, new hire orientation, refresher training, SSA training, and program specific security briefings.
  • Responsible for the compliance of Security Practice and Procedures (SPP).
  • Ensuring Closed area requirements are met and ultimately certifying physical construction paperwork.
  • Knowledgeable on International requirements to include: Government to Government shipments, Foreign Visitor requirements and Export compliance.
  • Participate with the local Crisis Management Team.
  • Support FSO with Maintenance physical security systems, plant protection, contingency plans and emergency response.
  • Review and maintain all site specific DD254's to ensure contract compliance.
  • Assist FSO with Self Inspections as required.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing classified programs.
  • Decision making and reasoning skills.
  • Knowledge of contractor operations, computer, physical, technical and personnel security requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Special Access Program Security Manuals and other related security manuals.
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance
  • Completion of Facility Security Officer Management Course.
  • Completion of SAP orientation or SAP Mid-Level Courses.
  • Bachelors Degree
