Algorithm Engineer

Job Description

Design, implement, and test infrared threat warning algorithms

• Involves development of algorithms for image processing, detection, signal extraction, and classification

• Improve performance of current machine learning-based classification algorithm

• Generate training data through modeling, simulation, and manipulation of collected data

• Contribute to the development of visualization and analysis tools in Python to support algorithm development

• Communicate designs and performance results to customers and stakeholders via presentations and white papers

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

• Algorithm development, ideally on EO/IR applications

• EO/IR image processing and detection techniques

• Experience with imaging EO/IR sensor technology

• Modeling and simulation

• Machine learning

• Manipulation and efficient processing of large datasets

• Experience with Python and C++

• Experience with software development in a Linux environment

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Must be self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced development environment

• Real-world experience with neural networks is a plus

• Experience leading a small team is a plus

Preferred Skills and Education

BS in physics desired
