Aegis Computer Operator - CSS
This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Seeking an AEGIS Combat Systems Computer Operator to support the Surface Combat System Command (SCSC) Combat Systems Support (CSS) program at Wallops Island, VA and perform duties such as:
Identify event equipment and computer program configuration
Obtain computer programs and electronic data from the Technical Library or electronic load management system,install computer programs, load computers and energizing equipment in accordance with procedures
Collect system recorded data during the event
Support setup of combat systems for events as per event run sheet and provide technical support during events Coordinate with Technical Library for software build and check-out requirements and schedules
Promptly report to the Government the status of systems and equipment that are not functioning properly and have the potential to impact customer events
Identify and recommend tactical and support computer programs to support operations at SCSC
Maintain cognizance of computer program delivery schedules, identify required computer programs not currently held at SCSC, maintain a listing of computer program configurations, and handle, store, and control in a manner to prevent unapproved changes, damage or deterioration
Identify obsolete programs and recommend their disposition or destruction to the Government
Maintain the current site unique adaptation data for SCSC and submit data for inclusion in delivered computer programs Coordinate with Technical Library for software build and check-out requirements and schedules
Required Skills and Education Minimum education and years of related work experience required: High School/GED and at least 2 years experience in loading and maintaining program/project documentation on AEGIS Combat Systems to include: Loading computer programs and equipment utilizing established procedures, verify system operations, setup and collect data recording/data extraction, document observed issues/problems while operating AEGIS combat system suites.
Security clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a final DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and a delayed start date pending granting of an interim Secret clearance.
Must be willing and able to provide a state issued driver’s license and complete DMV records upon date of hire. If position requires driving a vehicle 10k lbs and more than 15 passengers, selected candidate must also provide proof of completion of Navy Driver Training. Preferred Skills and Education Highly desired, but not required:
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Experience in an RDT&E environment
