Associate Buyer, Hardlines

Babylist is hiring an Associate Buyer to become a part of our growing eCommerce team. In this role, you will build upon the Babylist store assortment and be a key contributor to our growth and success. You will support the hardlines division in pricing decisions, product setup, and site merchandising.

What You'll Do

  • Support the strategic business vision for the hardlines category and set strategies for growth in your defined area of ownership
  • Collaborate with and support the Merchandise Manager with strategy building, assortment building, assortment planning and promotional initiatives
  • Partner with vendors on new product selection, negotiating product costs, exclusivity arrangements, coop partnerships, and promotional support
  • Manage new assortment for your categories including updates, and phase out communication to all cross functional partners
  • Manage ongoing product pricing and promotions changes and how they appear on the site landing pages and product pages
  • Analyze and report on weekly/monthly/quarterly category performance; identify and communicate opportunities and risks
  • Collaborate with planning to manage inventory across owned and drop ship channels
  • Research industry trends and perform competitive analysis to identify opportunities for business growth and assortment expansion
  • Create and manage product pages for a large and growing number of products in our store

What You've Done

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a retail buying or merchandising role, eCommerce preferred
  • You have strong excel and analytical skills and can interpret meaningful themes from quantitative data
  • You are comfortable with inventory planning concepts, retail math, and best practices
