Principal PM, CAD

Come Join Us
Come work in an exciting environment in which you’ll use your passion, experience, and strong analytical skills to help bring new technologies to public safety and leave a positive impact on the world. We cultivate an environment that favors agility, initiative, and creative thinking. Our mission is to protect life, making the world a safer place through smart devices and software services. We genuinely love what we do and are looking for others who share this passion.

We're growing this team from scratch to attack a multi-billion dollar market and we need your help. We’re kicking off an entirely new project that helps police officers in the most critical and time-sensitive situations – when they’re responding to a call for help. How do we get users the right information, at the right time, and in the right format, so that they can get to the scene of a crime and know exactly what’s going on? We think this likely requires, at minimum, some combination of Uber-style mapping and routing, real-time communications and video streaming, and effective display of critical data, all presented to an officer doing 60 in a 35.

Let's be honest - our user set is not your standard marketing focus group. They work in a uniquely challenging environment and they expect their software to be there for them in the most difficult circumstances. If you are interested in working on tough problems that cut across standard PM, Design, and Engineering competencies, this is the challenge for you. If you love to get close to our users to understand not just their workflows and their tasks but their mindsets and their culture, this is the place for you. If you are interested in creating a high-quality, highly reliable product with a superb and thoughtful user experience, this is the product for you.

Much of this role will feel like being a founder of a well funded, early stage startup. In the beginning, you will work closely with ~2-3 other team members to understand customers, solidify the product vision, and explore solutions to the biggest technical challenges. You will own the overall technical architecture and personally build the foundation of the product. As the team scales up, you will play a key role in hiring the team, setting the culture, and leading the technical direction of the effort.

This is a classic builder role - you'll go on ride-a-longs and conduct field research to understand what our law enforcement users need from their systems, and you'll also work every day with the design and engineering teams to ensure we're shipping the right stuff, in the right order, at the right time.

You'll work closely with your Design and Engineering peers to help define the technical architecture and requirements and the many user interactions and experiences required of this product.

You'll own defining the product's vision, its roadmap, and how to approach and develop various capabilities as the product is built, and you'll be integrally involved in the building of the rest of the team.
