Your Impact

Have you ever wondered if you can write code to save lives? At Axon our mission is to protect life. We are passionate about bringing state of the art technology to law enforcement so officers can focus on helping their communities instead of fighting with bad software.

As the Embedded Engineering Manager for Connected Devices you will help us build world-class products and a world-class team. We believe in hiring only the best teams and we need you to make that a reality. Hiring the best employees doesn't just mean hiring the most senior people, it also means hiring people with great potential. As the manager, you will take that potential and make it a reality.

You will work closely with the lead architect and external vendors to design, bring up and build at the BSP, middleware, and application layers. You need to have an outstanding knowledge of embedded development, Real Time Operating Systems and stellar C programming skills. Great leadership and communication skills are pivotal.

What are our Connected Devices?
At Axon, our products never stop evolving. We believe that when you buy one of our devices it continues to get better. We regularly ship updates to our embedded products to add new functionality, increase security, and improve performance.
Here are some of the products we're working on (that we can talk about):

* Axon Body Cameras - Our cameras are made to provide transparency. To do this, the cameras have to be ready to record on a moments notice. We have a pre-event buffer that makes sure the officers don't miss anything, even unexpected. This requires a camera to be on for the entire shift so power management of the system is key.

* Axon Signal - In those critical moments, we want officers to focus on the safety of themselves and those they protect, so we've built a system to automatically activate cameras when it matters most.

* Axon Dock - Our devices generate a lot of evidence and this is the first stop on the way to Evidence.com, our evidence management system. The Axon Dock is responsible for offloading evidence, updating firmware, and charging devices.

Are you ready to help up make a difference?

We believe in pushing autonomy as deeply as possible into the team. A deep understanding of our customers is critical to achieve this autonomy and move quickly. As a result, every engineer on the team spends personal time with law enforcement officers and agencies. Your first police ride-along will be awesome!
