Component Electrical Engineer

Your Impact 

We are looking for a component engineer with electrical engineering talent to help drive a growing engineering and operations organization forward. We are looking for a detail oriented person with an outgoing personality and solid knowledge of electrical engineering to work with electrical engineers, sourcing, and our supply chain partners to find solutions to component level problems and ensure an uninterrupted supply of our technology to our law enforcement and public safety professional customers around the world.

You should be comfortable in these areas: Passives, custom magnetics for switching power supplies, multimedia and power management chipsets, microcontrollers, volatile and non-volatile memory, lasers, LEDs, batteries, RF modules (Bluetooth and WiFi), connectors and other electromechanical components.

Your day to day

  • Develop component roadmaps across numerous categories
  • Share your subject matter expertise to guide other engineers to the best solutions
  • Identify cost effective components for use in current and future designs
  • Support new product introduction and qualify second sources for existing components in design
  • Leverage suppliers to find innovative solutions for any component issue
  • Manage component lifecycle changes, especially allocation and obsolescence
  • Coordinate and track root cause failure analysis and implementation of corrective actions

Skills Required

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an advanced technology environment
  • Navigate and understand schematic and layout tools, and identify key components on a PCB assembly
  • Strong communication skills as well as proven ability to work within team structure as an active participant and drive results through direct and indirect influence/collaboration
  • Great attention to detail, rigor, and thoroughness
