UX Designer - Group Manager | Capital Markets experience - NY Digital Studio

About the role

As a client-facing UX designer with Capital Market experience, you will deliver primary and secondary research and client interviews to ensure that all projects are driven by user needs and business outcomes. You'll facilitate and manage the collection and prioritization of business requirements from clients and explain, internally and externally the rationale for creative choices.

Generate thorough deliverables that are concise and well-designed, including research reports, personas, scenarios, conceptual models, site maps, functional flows, and annotated wireframes

Generate heuristic analysis reports on existing experiences

Maintain vigilance on usability and flawless execution throughout the process

Create lasting client relationships based on value, quality, logic, and responsiveness

Serve as the voice of structure, usability, and results for the engagement

Stay current on emerging trends in online consumer behaviour, technologies and design

An online portfolio that includes Capital Markets projects

Contribute to the insights and direction of creative briefs, as needed

Travel, as needed.

About you

You're passionate about creating ground-breaking user experiences. You are a strong multi-tasker with exceptional communication skills to articulate functional and UI choices to clients and team members. You likely have a portfolio showcasing involvement on several significant website or digital initiatives for world-class clients.

Your technical and business skillset likely includes:

An overall understanding of Internet technology platforms and their potential to express ideas (examples may include HTML5, CSS, Flash, Silverlight, WPF, Javascript, etc.)

The ability to prove how design decisions directly led to successful project outcomes

Prior experience with emerging interaction platforms such as mobile, ipad, touch-screen, Microsoft Surface, kiosks

Coaching and leadership of four or more user interface designers at all levels.

You likely have a degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or design and five or more years experience creating impactful and functional interactive design with multi-disciplinary teams at any known agency, design boutique or media company.

Qualifications

Years of Experience:

7+ years relevant UX experience

Management Experience:

2+ years managing people/teams

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, Computer Interaction, Behavioral Psychology, Human/Computer Interaction, or similar degree; experience may substitute degree. Master's in related discipline a plus

Other Skills/Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience with UX disciplines such as UX research methods, information architecture, usability testing, and content strategies
  • Experience with visual design delivery, capabilities, strategies
  • Leader in strategy, execution, tools, and an active UX community participant.
  • Experience translating requirements into design specifications
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience researching, designing and/or proposing solutions with mobile layouts in mind
  • Capable of understanding and articulating technical feasibility of solutions
