About the Role
The Creative Director is the creative lead of cross-functional teams, and is ultimately responsible for delivering outstanding work that matches or surpasses our clients' expectations. They look over and work directly with designers, copywriters, UX architects, business analysts, front-end and back-end developers, project leadership, and more. They should bring a broad range of digital creative experience to the table and be comfortable working with various technologies and platforms to deliver just the right solution to match any client's outstanding needs. They should be as comfortable providing creative oversight on multiple simultaneous projects as they are rolling up their sleeves and aiding in actual project asset creation.

Key Responsibilities
• Understands client brands and how to execute on technology platforms
• Consistently brings creative thinking and ideas to life while building trust with the team and clients
• Leads and reviews multiple workstreams in all phases of Avanade projects (Plan, then Analyze, Design, Build, and Test)
• Oversees, reviews, and creates design deliverables on assigned projects (e.g., comps, style guides, branding and creative briefs, graphics, layouts, etc.)
• Contributes to delivery of architecture-focused deliverables in projects (e.g., information architecture, taxonomy, content structures, etc.)
• Looks over and handles partnership with cross-functional technology and UX teams to integrate solutions and requirements into design strategies
• Mentors and fosters growth in direct reports/team members
• Sets objectives and owns the delivery of projects or work efforts that have a direct effect on business results

Years of Experience
• 7+ years relevant design experience

Management Experience
• 2+ years leading people/teams

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, or similar degree; experience may substitute for degree. Master's degree in related field a plus.

Other skills/knowledge
• Strong portfolio that demonstrates an authoritative capability in design principles and solutions
• Extensive experience with visual design, principles of UI design, layouts, graphics development, typography, color, and visual theories
• Knowledge of user experience disciplines such as UX architecture, research, usability, and content strategies
• Experienced with Adobe Creative Suite needed; capability with W3C HTML / XHTML, CSS, and Flash a plus
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Trained and experienced in digital design, web, and mobile development in an enterprise environment
• B2B and B2C experience highly valued
• Experience crafting with mobile layouts in mind
• Capable of communicating with technical developers to transfer design to the work you're doing
