Data Scientist

You will leverage your understanding of complex data analysis and modeling to assist project teams in extracting insight from their data. Working under the direction of your team members, this role supports hypothesis generation and testing, exploratory analysis, data preparation for statistical modelling/machine learning/deep learning, building machine learning or deep learning models and model interpretations
Key responsibilities of the role:
Day-to-day you will:

- Support project teams in developing solutions for Avanade's clients driven by exploratory data analysis
- Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to better business decision making
- Conduct data analyses tests in-line with agreed-upon strategies
- Communicate analysis results and recommendations to team members and clients
- Provide input and guidance on data visualization techniques and opportunities and how model results can be visualized
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience with at least one key analytics tools (e.g., R, Revolution R, SAS, SPSS, MATLAB, MicroStrategy, Tableau)
--Strong knowledge of Python and the library ecosystem is preferred
- Knowledgeable of data mining, analysis, modeling, of large scale, complex data sets
- Knowledgeable of statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing (A/B testing), and optimization algorithms
- Capable of explaining complex analytical methodologies and concepts in non-technical language
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
You likely possess a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Operations Research, Economics/Econometrics, Engineering or another relevant quantitative field.
You likely have about 1+ years' relevant professional experience.
