Azure Security Engineer
About the role
Avanade Azure professionals design, build and protect systems, applications, data, assets and people for our organization and our clients. This involves researching, recommending and implementing solutions to enhance information security, as well as educating and communicating security requirements and procedures to clients.
As a Consultant, Security Consulting you will provide consultative Security Services to help clients protect their information, critical infrastructure applications, and key business processes against cyber threats. You will understand and translate customer security and risk management needs into business solutions by using the Microsoft Ecosystem to enable compliance and appropriate risk mitigation. You will continuously support new business initiatives and innovations by managing risks. Along with this, you work to increase customer trust approaching security and compliance targets as fundamental building blocks.
Day-to-day you will:
-Monitor use of computer ﬁles/intellectual property and regulates access to safeguard information
-Perform required audits and tests related to the Business Continuity Plans
-Requires analysis and solving of moderately complex problems
-Design and implement security related tools and services, creating solutions by leveraging and adapting existing methods and procedures
-Performs testing to evaluate vulnerability and threat with client input -Requires understanding of the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
-Communicate with project stakeholders to convey requirements of process and technical improvements
You have experience identifying, providing and validating security requirements of IT solutions, preferably in a consulting environment. You should have about six years of IT experience focusing on information security, with around three years managing complex teams of business and technical resources. You should also be able to effectively convey security risks to technical as well as non-technical stakeholders.
Your technical and non-technical skills may include:
-Primary upward interaction is with upper management. May interact with peers and/or management levels at a client and/or within Avanade
-Continuous oversight and guidance from upper-level management when determining methods and procedures on new assignment
-Manages small teams and/or work eﬀorts at a client or within Avanade
-Knowledge of security operations, networking, application services, databases, and storage solutions Ability to work independently and in groups
-Proﬁcient with the Microsoft Applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. -Strong written and oral communication skills
You likely possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Information Security or relevant ﬁeld
You likely have 0-3 years in information systems security work environment, or relevant ﬁeld
