Avanade is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide application development services for our clients in Financial Services and Mortgage securities industry. Successful candidate will be part of a team located in Ottawa. The candidate will be trained to provide production support for various systems/environments. Candidate will learn each application's end-to-end function and be responsible for resolving incidents/problems and monitoring/availability of the applications to exceed SLA's.

Candidate is responsible for the recovery of applications from production outages, which includes determining application or infrastructure components that are failing/impacted, engaging and leading resources from various support organizations, escalating as needed, and communicating status to the Service Delivery Lead. Perform root cause analysis and identify long-term resolution to prevent reoccurrence. Identify improvements in logging, monitoring, and support documentation and tools to improve the team's capability to identify cause and expedite recovery. Position may requires participation in a frequent on call rotation with 24/7 support responsibilities.

Successful candidate will understand the importance of maintaining highly available applications and exceeding established SLA's for our clients, and will be results driven and welcoming of challenges and the related accountability. Will possess a passion for world-class production support and enthusiasm for working with a great team in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Will have excellent written/oral communication, analytical, interpersonal and team building skills built on a strong foundation of information technology experience.

  • Research and learn new technologies
  • Work as part of a larger team to influence and improve the maintainability and availability of our applications
  • Complete assignments with attention to detail while exhibiting outstanding organizational skills
  • Possesses flexibility and adaptability and creates an environment of teamwork and collaboration
  • Research production issues to determine if the issue is environmental or functional and determine next step toward resolution.
  • Write support documentation and non-functional requirements that help improve the recoverability of our systems

The candidate must have a good knowledge and practical experience supporting one of the following Microsoft products and technologies:

  • .Net application
  • C#
  • SharePoint VB.NET SQL
  • SSRS
  • Javascript
  • Advanced .NET
  • SharePoint architecture

Professional background (Education & Qualification, Years of Experience)

  • Minimum 2 years of Application support experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
