Role Overview
As a Group Manager, Service Delivery Management, you will lead service delivery teams in delivering what is defined and outlined in service contract on accounts of moderate-to-large size/complex projects, or a portfolio of smaller/less complex accounts.
As a group manager, you will interface directly with the client IT organization, and take primary responsibility for maintaining/developing client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. You will serve as the link between delivery resources and client organization for technical, contractual, service and vendor issues, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Incumbents in this role have work delivered through delivery centers, but typically do not work out of a delivery center themselves. You will regularly be on-site with the client. Additionally, you will support sales activities as needed, and will sign-off on delivery center's aspects of work in the sales and contract negotiation process.

Day-to-day you will manage:
Issues and risks associated with the project, including balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks, and will manage aspects through formal change management mechanisms
Develop, implement, and maintain a detailed project work plan, including appropriate controls, governance structures and monitoring to ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality outcomes- Ensure accurate development and traceability of requirements during project lifecycle
The change enablement process throughout project duration
Client expectations, updates and buy-in, including representing Avanade at governance meetings
Develop customer relationships and perceptions to achieve mutual goals
Avanade and subcontractor staff assigned to the project.
Determine the project approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedule-
Ensure that project resources receive any necessary training and are used effectively
Engage and manage appropriate onshore, offshore, and nearshore workforces, including Service Licensing Agreements (SLAs)
Assist in the sales process, including estimating work effort and expenses using Avanade's standard tools.
Your technical and non-technical skills include:
Some experience planning and managing projects/programs which are resourced and executed by geographically dispersed teams
Basic understanding of project/program financials (e.g., budgeting, assessing financial impact, working with financial analysts)
Knowledgeable of at least one software development methodology (e.g., Agile, Scrum, SDLC, Waterfall)
Knowledgeable of Microsoft platform technologies and tools Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
Proven skills in stakeholder expectations management
Business and financial acumen- customer oriented attitude with great presentation and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Certifications
Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP certification preferred, but not required -DMA II completion.
Preferred Education Background:
You likely have a bachelor's degree in business or technology-related field (or equivalent).
Preferred Years of Work Experience:
You likely have about 5 - 7 years of consulting project management experience.
Preferred Years of Management Experience:
5+ years of direct people management experience
